Ever had a lot of data and needed to update the data file with some minor changes throughout a spreadsheet? If so you can do this quickly and efficiently by reading this article.

Step 1

If you need to make a lot of identical minor changes to a spreadsheet such as changing a date (1/1/2009)to another date. You can use the Find and replace function of Excel.
Step 2

For this article I have chosen to find and replace the date 1/1/2009. To access the "Find & Replace" function, all you need to do is click the following: ("CTRL" & "F" at the same time) while in your current excel worksheet.)
Step 3

After you have done this, the Find and Replace window will pop up. Type in what you want to find, Then select the "Find All" tab within the window. You should now see a list of all the duplicates of what you typed in the initial search.
Step 4

Now click on the "Replace option" tab next to the "Find" tab in the FIND & REPLACE window. Type in what you want to replace your initial search with and then choose the "Replace All" tab below. You can also selectively replace your excel content if you only do not need to replace all of your selected item. Once you've done this you will have an updated spreadsheet in no time.
